Benefice Profile

Welcome to the Benefice of the Staughtons with Hail Weston.

We are a relatively new benefice having been created in the early 2010’s when All Saints, Little Staughton moved across from St. Albans Diocese to join St. Andrew’s, Great Staughton and St. Nicolas, Hail Weston in Ely Diocese. However, Little Staughton remains firmly in Bedfordshire (the county boundary runs along the eastern end of churchyard) and the other two churches are in Cambridgeshire/Huntingdonshire (County / District councils)

We have excellent transport links to get to and from the Benefice with the A14 (east/west) and the A1M (north/south) trunk roads being within easy reach. In addition the East Coast Mainline runs through St. Neots and London can be reached in under an hour by train from either St. Neots or Bedford by rail. Eventually we will have the east/west railway linking Cambridge and Oxford. And if that’s not all, the new Universal Theme Park will be the other side of Bedford!

As a small Benefice, you can visit all three churches and travel less than 6 miles. We often work together and support each others activities. In this respect the Vacancy we currently have has brought us closer together as we look to balance out the availability of volunteer Priests to lead our services and ensuring Communion remains available in each Parish regularly.

On this page you will find links to the Benefice Profile created to help inform those interested in potentially becoming our new Priest. Please do come and visit us to get the full benefice experience!

Additionally, we’ve created a video to show off further what we have been and will hopefully continue to get up to…
